No. Mahjong 101 starts at the very first tile — the tiles, the card, the Charleston — and runs three hours so there’s time to actually play. Mahjong 102 is for guests who already know their way around a table.

It’s the version played across the United States, built around a card of winning hands that the National Mah Jongg League publishes each year. It uses jokers and opens every hand with a round of passing called the Charleston.

The two of us: Brittany Mazique and Samantha McIntee, the club’s co-founders. Samantha is a certified Oh My Mahjong instructor, and both of us teach at every lesson of eight or more, so nobody waits with a question.

We bring everything for the game: a weighted set, a mat beneath the tiles, and an acrylic rack and pusher at every seat. You provide the room — and the food and drink, if you’d like them. Card tables and chairs can be arranged if you need them.

Wherever your guests are — a home, a clubhouse, an office, or a venue — anywhere in Greater Washington, DC, including Northern Virginia and Montgomery County. Travel is complimentary within 25 miles of DC; beyond that, it’s quoted with your proposal.

Anywhere from one guest (Private Instruction) to fifteen (Corporate & Club). Elevated Social starts at eight guests, and Kids & Parties is four to eight children. Both of us teach at every lesson of eight or more, so nobody waits with a question.

Every guest keeps a National Mah Jongg League card — the current year’s card of winning hands — whichever package you choose, so you can keep playing long after we pack up.

Yes, from age eight. Kids & Parties is ninety minutes for four to eight children, on the same real tiles the grown-ups use.

It depends on the package, the headcount, and where you are, so every request gets its own proposal — usually within a day or two. Request one here.

Send us the occasion, the headcount, and roughly when and where. We’ll come back with a proposal and some dates, and a 50% deposit reserves the one you choose.

One reschedule is complimentary with a week’s notice. Deposits are fully refundable 14 or more days out, half refundable at 7–13 days, and non-refundable inside 7 days.
